Phase 1: Reflection of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge
Valerie:
Knowledge of Technology: I am somewhat knowledgeable about technology. I need more practice using wiki's to fully understand them. I am aware of educational software, lesson plan sites, and video sites I can use to integrate within content areas. My attitude towards technology is positive. I believe my technology knowledge is sufficient to employ the lesson we have developed.
Knowledge of Pedagogy: My knowledge of pedagogy is sufficient. I use various ways to stimulate learning through different teaching methods. For this assignment I would use visual and interactive qualities of the internet and multimedia resources to draw and hold student's attention. Also, I would use video-based scenarios, simulations that show relevance to reading comprehension. I would also give students an active role in learning.
Knowledge of Content: I know the specific discipline to develop meaningful learning experiences within the classroom. My knowledge of reading comprehension is sufficient to complete this unit.
Me and the TPACK model: I see myself strongest in the PCK area. My content and pedagogical knowledge is solid and strong. I could use more knowledge and practice in technological knowledge. If my technological base was stronger and more varied, I could get to the middle of the TPACK model.
Allison:
Knowledge of Technology: I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to technology.I am comfortable using computer software, the internet, and various other teaching technologies (ELMO projectors, LCD projectors, and audio equipment).There are still so many aspects I don’t know about, but I am eager to incorporate technology into my classroom because it is a way to captivate and reach all learners.
Knowledge of Pedagogy: I am comfortable with my teaching pedagogy and I am aware of the need to change my style to best meet the needs of the students in my classroom.In this instructional plan, I would like to provide students with opportunities to explore web-based learning tools and video-clips that help students connect learning to their own lives.Furthermore, I would like to use computerized graphic-organizers so that students may demonstrate their understanding in a different way.
Knowledge of Content: My understanding of the importance and strategies to teach reading comprehension is sufficient to complete this instructional unit.
Me and the TPACK model: I feel I fit best in the PCK area of the TPACK model.Although, I am confident and comfortable using the technologies that are available to me, I know there are so many other areas of technology that I have yet to learn about.If I had more experience with a wider-variety of technology, I feel I would be in the middle of the TPACK model., I could get to the middle of the TPACK model.

When it comes to technology I am comfortable. I have experience using the internet, computer software, and projectors. Technology is always changing and growing. I would like to be able to incorporate technology into more lessons to give my students access updated information as well as a vast amount of information.
Knowledge of Pedagogy: I am aware of my teaching pedagogy. I know that there is a need for me to change some of my teaching styles to meet the needs of all my students. I have always used various methods to teach students. For this assignment, I would like for students to use the interactive websites to help them make connections with text they are reading. I also would like for the students to videos that available on the web to assist with their comprehension.
Knowledge of Content: My knowledge and understanding of the importance of reading comprehension is sufficient to complete this unit.
Me and the TPACK model:
I fit best in the PCK area of the TPACK model. Even though I am comfortable with technology, I know there is still a lot for me to learn about incorporating technology into the classroom. I think my pedagogy and content knowledge are sufficient. I think I could move to the middle of the TPACK model when I learn to incorporate different types of technology into the lessons I am teaching.
As a team we are confident that we fit best in the PCK area of the TPACK model.We have a variety of abilities and experiences with technology represented among us, but do not feel that we are in the middle of the TPACK model just yet.Hopefully once we have created this instructional unit, we will all be able to say, with confidence, that we are in the middle of the TPACK model.
